Julie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in treating trauma-related symptoms. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Oswego State University and her Masters Degree in Social Work from Syracuse University. Julie knew she had a high level of empathy as a young child and has spent her lifelong career advocating for her clients in various capacities. She has valuable experience working with families in community mental health and was instrumental in improving the lives of many. She has experience demonstrating a high level of compassion while providing end of life care to Hospice patients and their families. Julie has extensive experience working with survivors of domestic violence as well as individuals that have endured lifelong abuse stemming from childhood trauma.
Julie’s style is calm and inviting which allows for natural rapport building. Her goal is for every client is to feel validated, supported and encouraged. Julie is committed to creating a safe space where clients can feel comfortable exploring their innermost concerns and feelings. Julie has a passion for cheering on others and empowering her clients to gain insight and learn new skills to make the changes they want to see in their lives.
Julie’s approach is person-centered and she uses therapeutic modalities based on the individual needs of each client. Therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) are all used to help clients build perseverance and obtain the personal growth that they are seeking.
