Her work is structured around roles and boundaries within relationships, as well as recognizing one’s self-worth, journey, and life purpose.
Val’s therapeutic background stems from in-home, outpatient, and psychiatric programming in Pennsylvania. Her earlier years were focused on children and adults with severe mental health concerns within the family system. Currently she prefers to work with adults who are working and improving their self-esteem, identifying attainable goals to improve their day-to-day life, struggles with grief and loss within their relationships, depression, and anxiety. She draws from her past work to help clients move past childhood trauma and generational discord to find fulfillment and peace in their current lives. Val targets the present moment, exploring with her clients their past experiences and their hopes for the future, to help them live for today.
Val’s clinical training is in Structural Family Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems. Her training includes many other programmatic processes and skill building methods, she uses an integrative and compassionate approach of theory, techniques, mindfulness, and understanding to assist her clients where they are starting from to enhance their life journey.
