She specializes in helping adultsrecover from post-traumatic stress, process difficult experiences, and reduce the lastingimpact trauma can have on sleep, mood, and daily functioning.
Dawn Moreland, MA, LCMHC, NCC, CCMHC, is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health
Counselor who provides trauma-informed counseling for adults experiencing PTSD, combat trauma, critical incident stress, anxiety, and trauma-related sleep disturbances.
Practicing in the Jacksonville and Camp Lejeune, North Carolina area, Dawn has
extensive experience supporting active-duty service members, veterans, military
families, law enforcement officers, and other first responders. Through this work, shehas developed a strong commitment to helping individuals in high-stress professionsprocess traumatic experiences and regain a sense of stability and control.
Dawn is EMDRIA Certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
(EMDR) and utilizes several evidence-based treatments for trauma and sleep
disturbances including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), and Image Rehearsal Therapy for trauma-related
nightmares. Her approach combines structured trauma treatment with practical tools, mindfulness skills, psychoeducation, and collaborative problem-solving to support meaningful and lasting change. Dawn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Norfolk State University, a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, and a Graduate Certificate in
Substance Abuse Counseling from East Carolina University.
Dawn provides trauma therapy and EMDR treatment for adults in Jacksonville, NC,
Camp Lejeune, and throughout Eastern North Carolina.
