Solana was born in Chapel Hill, NC and raised in Mebane, NC. Solana developed a passion for serving others and that drew her to the field of becoming a therapist. Solana attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. After graduating, Solana worked as a teacher’s assistant at Rashkis Elementary School and as a research assistant dealing with students of parents that suffer from substance issues. Solana also focused on bridging the gap in education pertaining to minority students. Solana then received her Graduate Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro earning a Masters of Science Degree in Counseling.

Solana is an active member with the Junior League of Greensboro where she works to empower women in the community allowing them to gain better control of their personal lives and assist them with leadership development. Solana also does volunteer work with the elderly helping them not become victims of fraudulent scams, she assists with construction of needed home improvements, and finding needed resources to assist them in the Greensboro community.

Solana has training and experience in dealing with depression, anxiety, social issues, adults/children with special needs, educational based needs, bullying, and problems related to childhood growth and development. Solana works with both children and adults and is passionate about empowering them to improve their quality of life. Solana strives to understand the unique story and struggles of each client.

Solana uses Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt interventions, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, and Art Therapy interventions.
