Julie S. Marshall was born and raised in Laurel, Md. She moved to NC to attend Elon University, where she received her BA in Psychology in 1993. After graduation, Julie began working for Guilford County Mental Health and volunteered at Rape Crisis in Alamance County.
In 2005, Julie received her Masters in Social Work. Julie has been in private practice for 7 years providing individual, family and couples therapy. She has worked with a diverse client population in a variety of settings, including homes, college campuses and workplaces.
Julie specializes in healing relationships, overcoming traumas and supporting individuals with difficulties related to depressive disorders and emotional balance. Julie believes the foundation of psychotherapy is anchored in honesty, compassion and respect. She has a great appreciation for the dignity and worth of each client she encounters. She supports clients of all identities, including age, gender, culture, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, spirituality and socioeconomic status.
She uses an eclectic therapeutic approach when working with couples and individuals. This is a more flexible and multifaceted approach that allows her to use the most effective methods available to address client’s individual needs.
