Celeste Nettles is an NC state-licensed professional counselor (LPC) who has been a resident of Guilford County since 1998. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s of Behavioral Sciences from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma in 1990. In 1992, returned to school and earned a Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg. She completed her internship at the Center for Cognitive Rehabilitation at East Jefferson Hospital in Metarie, Louisiana.

Celeste has extensive experience working with young children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her years of experience in outpatient mental health and in medical settings have afforded her expertise in the areas of chronic pain, chronic illness, ADHD, depression, trauma, cancer survivors, grief and loss, anxiety, and stress management. She also enjoys working with families of individuals who have chronic mental illnesses. Those who work with Celeste describe her techniques as supportive and accepting. She reinforces the concept that clients get better when they begin using the tools they already have in healthier and more constructive ways. Celeste uses the client’s life experiences and knowledge about oneself to guide the direction of therapy. Celeste utilizes a client centered approach and is knowledgeable in a variety of techniques and theories to help change negative thinking patterns and behaviors. She has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, behavior management, and play therapy.
